In his collaborative effort, the Public Complaints Commission, Abia State boss , Hon. Madukwe E. E. Ukaegbu and his dedicated team embarked on a familiarization visit at the office of Mrs. Iroha Regina , the State Director of National Orientation Agency, Abia State.
The seemingly casual courtesy call , was a critical meeting that served as a game changer for both institutions, as both principals sought possible ways their organizations can partner to guarantee the provision of sustainable public enlightenment initiatives and administrative justice for the good people of Abia State.
While addressing the summit, the Abia Ombudsman beside spelling out the duties the Commission is saddled with, emphasized to the attendees that PCC operatives are not adversarial , rather they are arbitrators with a singular purpose to redress grievances and injustice of the Abia public and all who reside in Nigeria.
Moving on , he urged his host to kindly consider bringing the knowledge of the existence of Public Complaints Commission (whose services are gratis) to all and sundry in the State via their continuous sensitization programmes and dissemination of government policies to all Abians.
While summing up his remarks ,the Ombudsman on a lighter note stated :
“It is indeed a remarkable experience for me, as my team and i look forward to being oriented and reoriented by members of NOA before we proceed to the government house for a session with the governor.”
In her response, she admitted that given the critical roles both institutions play in the society, both must unequivocally complement each other, with a view to engender an elusive justice, equity and good conscience in the State. This according to her could be achieved through joint efforts by both institutions, especially in the sharing of innovative ideas , co-hosting Town Hall meetings and what have you.
The summit became even more engaging when it culminated into an interactive session which had the Abia Ombudsman fielding series of salient questions from officials of NOA.
The historic session adjourned with group photographs.
