The Honourable Federal Commissioner, Gombe State office of the Public Complaints Commission, Hon. Bashir Mohammed Bose earlier today paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner, Gombe State Ministry of Local Government, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mohammed Waziri (Wazirin Akko).
The visit was aimed at familiarizing himself with the Ministry and seeking Collaboration that will enable him to succeed in performing his duties as an Ombudsman in the State.
In his remarks, the Honourable Federal Commissioner, stated that the visit was strategic considering the ministry’s oversight function over the Local Government Councils in the State.
He said the main objective of the Commission is to ensure best administrative practices and to promote good Governance. He gave the assurance that during his tenure, he will be committed to repositioning the Commission to serve the people more effectively.
Hon. Bose enjoined the Management of the Ministry to always adhere to the rule of law to ensure peace and harmony in the work place.
In her contribution, the Director of Investigation, Gombe state office of the Commission, Ms. Simpheroza Alpheaus Shagnah appealed to the Honourable Commissioner of the State Ministry of Local Government to use his good office to influence more collaboration between the Local Government Councils in the State and the PCC.
She disclosed that, the Commission has seven area Offices in the State that are established to reach the people In the rural areas and these offices need the support of the Local Government Councils to be able to serve the people.
In his response, the Honourable Commissioner, Gombe State Ministry of Local Government, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mohammed Waziri (Wazirin Akko) congratulated the Honourable Federal Commissioner on his new appointment and expressed optimism that he will perform his responsibilities efficiently.
He noted that the functions executed by the Commission are not only for the good of the Common man but for everyone since good administration is the bedrock of good Governance.
Alhaji Waziri reminded the Honourable Commissioner of the need to visit Local Government Councils to seek Collaboration and assured him of his readiness to ensure that the Commission Succeeds in doing its work at the Local Government levels.
