PUBLIC COMPLAINTS COMMISSION TOP ECHELON HOLDS PLENARY

The Honourable Chief Commissioner, Honourable Bashir Abubakar, MFR alongside the 36 Federal Commissioners representing the 36 states of the Federation including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recently had a 2- day plenary sessions to review performance and to set workable agenda in the years ahead.

Presiding during the 2-day plenary sessions, the Honourable Chief Commissioner, Honourable. Bashir Abubakar, MFR, thanked President Bola Ahmed, Tinubu, the leadership of the National Assembly as well as relevant government organs and Committees for providing a workable budgetary allocation to the Commission which shall logically help the Commission to positively impact in the lives of the citizenry and residents in the country.

The PCC Chief further applauded the commitments and giant strides of the 37 PCC Federal Commissioners in their fight against Administrative Injustice.

“I am fully aware that you are all doing your job with high spirits of patriotism despite unavailability of required financial resources, but I can assure you all  that   there is always a light at the end of the tunnel” Bashir Abubakar promised.

The   Chief Ombudsman further made it known that  his administration shall not let any stone unturned until  most the  cases that are presently pilling up in Nigerian courts  are reduced to the nearest minimum in view of the recent  evolving free  quality service being currently  rendered by PCC  to the people and urged them all   to seriously  continue  their good works  specifically  in ensuring rapid response in  resolving complaints that are brought before the Commission.

Furthermore , the Honourable Chief Commissioner disclosed that  the robust  staff welfare package as earlier promised   remains one of his  major priorities, while at the same time underscoring the critical importance of discipline and work ethics as a pivotal of success in any serious organization which recently  prompted the Commission to ease out  two  erring members of Staff who violated principle of confidentiality when they  posted unauthorized official documents on  various social media platforms.

The PCC top echelon assured that all arrears owing members of staff shall be fully paid as soon as possible.

” The era of indiscipline in the Commission is over”, the PCC Chief asserted.

The Honourable Chief Ombudsman of the Federation informed the gathering that there shall  be transfer  as soon as issues of all arrears are settled because  the Commission ought to have her presence in all the 774  Local Government  Areas in the country  and he promised to that  the intending  transfer  shall not be carried out with any  sentiments  whatsoever  but in strict compliance with the provisions of extant  rules and regulations.

Honourable Bashir Abubakar, MFR intimated the attendees about the forth coming Commission 50th anniversary otherwise known as Ombudsman Day which shall come up in October this year 2025 which shall attract President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the NASS Leadership, National and International dignitaries as well as advocates of Social Justice, Human Rights Defenders and Public Protectors.
