PCC COMMENDS PRESIDENTS BUHARI FOR IMPROVED BUDGETARY ALLOCATION

The Honourable Chief Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commissioner, Hon. Chille W. Igbawua has commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the entire leadership of the National Assembly for increasing the Commission’s budgetary allocations for the year 2021.

Hon. Chille Igbawua made the commendation during a Press conference on the 14th of February 2021 at the Commission’s Headquarters, Abuja.

The Honourable Commissioner said since his assumption of office in 2018, he had been able to reposition the Commission to enable it effectively perform its function. He added that the Commission wouldn’t relent in its fight against administrative injustice.

He also disclosed that during the period the Commission had received over 71,000 complaints and has been able to successfully resolve over 21,000 cases.

While highlighting the achievements the Commission has gained since he assumed office in 2018, Hon. Igbauwa attributed the delay in justice delivery to the failure of Organizations to cooperate with the Commission in the course of investigation of complaints.

According to him, the commission has sustained partnership with non-governmental Organizations and whistle blowing organizations like the Pro Bono Lawyers, Human Rights Radio (Berekete) etc. to ensure quick resolution of complaints.
