The Osun State Office of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) has recovered The AGO-AYO COMMUNITY Transformer after it was taken away by the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) for Repair.
Mr Raphael Adeniyi Adeniran, the Chairman of the Community on behalf of the Community had earlier written to complain to the Commission on the lackadaisical attitude of IBEDC HQ regarding the Community Transformer which it took away for repairs about a year and seven months.
According to the Community, sometimes in February 2022, IBEDC came to the community to pick up the spoilt Transformer for Repairs and since then all efforts made by people to ensure that the company brings back the transformer failed and the Community had since then they had remained in darkness.
Consequently, the community requested the Commission to come to their aid regarding the repair and return of their transformer so that the community can once again have electricity.
On receipt of the complaint a team of Investigation Officers visited the IBEDC HQ in Ibadan. The Team met with the Representative of The Chief Technical Officer and an agreement was made that the Transformer would be delivered on or before 30th of September.
On Thursday , 28th September, 2023, the people of Ago-Ayo Community came out with drumming and dancing to receive the repaired Transformer brought by IBEDC Officials in the company of Officers of the Public Complaints Commission in Osogbo.
Appreciating the Commission on behalf of the people, the Chairman of the community said it was like a dream to them just like the Biblical City of Zion, when their captivity was overturned. He said he was more amazed that the Complaint was resolved in just Three weeks.
He Thanked the Honourable Federal Commissioner Hon Soji Asolo, The Director Of Investigation Mrs Grace Oyebade, the Management staff and the Investigating Team for a Job well-done.
