PCC TO COLLABORATE WITH NIGERIA ARMY IN FIGHT AGAINST INSECURITY

“Strategic intelligence sharing between the Nigeria Army and the Public Complaints Commission and ceaseless sensitization cum orientation of the general populace would certainly go a long way in stemming the tide of insecurity within the State of Abia and her neighboring States. ”

The Federal Commissioner , Public Complaints Commission, Abia State, Hon. Madukwe E. E. Ukaegbu made this solemn call during a Courtesy/Enlightenment Visit to the Commander , 14 Brigade, Nigeria Army, Brigadier General N. J. Edet.

The consummate Criminologist in his dispassionate speech against the increased security challenges faced by the enterprising people of the SouthEast reiterated his commitment towards partnering with the Nigeria Military with a view to smoke out both the perpetrators of violent crimes and their sponsors and eventually prosecute them.

He further used the occasion to elaborate to his host on the benefits of occasionally withholding the kinetic approach and employing finesse towards violent crimes fighting. Hence , the need for security agencies in the country to harness Public Complaints Commission’s statutory role as the mediating tool of Abia State and the nation at large.

In his concise response , the Commander appreciated the outburst of his guest over the state of security in the State.

He however reeled out some proactive steps and espionage he and his officers regularly embark on with the singular intention of curbing act of violence in the State. Such steps according to him is their setting up of critical security checkpoints and constant engagements of the community people especially Village Heads and Traditional Prime Ministers who they usually encourage to share vital security intelligence that will help the Military nip every possible act of terror in the bud.
