Public Complaints Commission Honours Past Secretaries

The Honourable Chief Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission, Hon.Chille W. Igbawua has commended the efforts of the past Secretaries of the Commission in ensuring the growth of the Ombudsman institution in Nigeria. He gave the commendation at a Send- Forth dinner organized at Rockview Hotel for the past Secretaries of the Commission in the persons of Hajia Hurera Hassan, Barr. Bala Mohammed and Hajia Falilat Taiwo Madaki .

Hon. Chille noted that the honorable gathering was in recognition of their creditable service to the nation having retired without any blemish and today can be proudly referred to as members of the Ombudsman community. He praised the Honorees for doing greatly during their tenures as Secretaries of the Commission despite the challenges they faced.

He also thanked all the Honorable Commissioners present at the occasion for creating time to attend the Dinner despite their tight schedules. According to the Honourable Chief Commissioner,

“The event is also part of  the progress we are making towards building a very strong Ombuds Community in this country (Nigeria). We will like to have a strong Ombudsman Community whether in office or out of office. And am glad to say that in regards to this, the Commission is presently working on a document to established the Nigerian Ombudsman Association which will be the umbrella body for every person in the Ombudsman practice in the country.”

In their goodwill messages, the Hon. Commissioners representing Cross River, Abia and Kaduna States applauded all the past Secretaries for every effort they put to ensure all the successes the Commission recorded during their time. They also commended the Honourable Chief Commissioner for deeming it fit to honour them.

Responding on behalf of the honorees, Barr. Bala Mohammed appreciated the Hon. Chief Commissioner for honouring them and commended his style of Leadership which he described as excellent. He appreciated the Commission for the certificates of service given to them.

In a vote of thanks, the Secretary of the Commission, Ms Modupe Kolawole appreciated the Almighty God for the success of the event and prayed for journey Mercies for everyone who attended the event. She thanked the Hon. Commissioners, Directors and Staff of the Commission for making the event a success.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of Certificates of service and gifts to the Honorees for many years of meritorious service.
