THE NIGERIA CHIEF OMBUDSMAN FLAGS OFF THE 2022 ANTI CORRUPTION MARATHON IN ABUJA

The Hon Chief Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission, Hon Abimbola Ayo-Yusuf has flaged off the 2022 Anti Corruption Marathon in Abuja.

The Hon Chief Commissioner while declaring the event opened, welcomed all the participants and urged the Youths in general to shun corrupt practices and follow due process in all their dealings in life.

The Chief said corruption is a battle that needs all hands to be on deck in order to eradicate it completely from the country.

The occasion saw male and female athletes from different parts of the country converged at the Unity Fountain for the 21km half marathon.

The Marathon race had the athletes running through the Shehu Shagari way to the National Stadium and then manuvering their way through the Wuse-Berger axis back to the Unity Fountain for the finish line.

At the end of the day, Muazu Adamu came First for the male category with a time of 1:07.49 and took home the price money of N1,000,000 only, Francis James came in second with a time of 1:08.22 and took home N300,000 only while Sadjo Ismail came in the third position with a time of 1:08.32 and took home N200,000 accordingly.

For the female category, Akusho Lydia Thomas came in the first positin with a time of 1:20.00 and bagging the prize money of N1,000,000 only, Vera Yohanna Maisaje came second with a time of 1:21.17 and carting home with N300,000 only while Badung Deborah Pam came in third with a time of 1:22.47 and took home N200,000 only.
