The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Mohammad Musa Bello has assured the Public Complaints Commission of the support of the Federal Capital Territory administration to enable the Commission faithful its mandate of stamping out administrative injustice in the Country.
The Minister gave the assurance when he received the Honourable Chief Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission and Ombudsman of the Federation, Hon. Chille Igbawua who was on a courtesy/thank- you visit to his office. He emphasised that his Ministry holds its relationship with the Nigerian Ombudsman at high esteem and will ensure that its door remains open to further collaborations.
The Hon. Chief Commissioner who was accompanied by the Federal Commissioner of the Niger State Office of the Commission, Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed had earlier stated that the visit was to thank the Minister and the entire staff of the Ministry for their support during the Commission’s hosting of the International Ombuds Expo in October, 2019.
Hon. Igbawua regretted the inability of the Commission to pay the visit earlier which attributed to the Covid-19 lockdown and called for more collaborations as well as support to the Commission to enable it fulfil its obligations to Nigerians.
‘’If not for FCT, the International Ombudsman event that brought together over 500 Ombuds from 50 nations wouldn’t have taken place successfully” the Chief Commissioner declared.
