PCC LAMENTS OVER INADEQUATE OFFICE ACCOMMODATION; APPEALS TO FEDERAL MINISTRY OF WORKS AND HOUSING

The Hon. Chief Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission (PCC), Hon. Abimbola Ayo-Yusuf has lamented over inadequate office accommodation especially at the state offices of the Commission.

The Hon. Chief Commissioner made his request known when he paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Works and Housing, His Excellency, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) in his office in Abuja.

The Chief told the Minister that the Commission is under pressure for beffiting office accommodation to enable it carry out it’s Mandate effectively.

Hon. Ayo-Yusuf assured the Nigerians of the Commission’s commitment in spite of the challenge to serve the citizenry and ensure best administrative practices in both the Public and Private sectors.

Hon. Chief seized the opportunity to list the States Offices that are in serious need of office accommodation to include; “Rivers, Nasarawa, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Ogun, Niger, Kwara, Zamfara, Yobe and the F.C.T amongst others.

Responding, the Hon. Minister welcomed the Chief and his team while recognizing the important role the Commission plays to ensure good governance in the country.

Mr Raji Fashola disclosed that construction of Four Federal Secretariat Complexes are ongoing across the States which includes Anambra, Bayelsa, Zamfara and Nasarawa States and promised that the request of the Commission will be considered when the projects are completed.

The Minister said among this four States, Bayelsa and Nasarawa Federal Secretariats are almost at the completion stage
with furnishing and painting ongoing and assured that the Commission can benefit from them when completed in line with the Federal Government directive to house all Federal Staff in States under one roof.

The Minister further requested that the Commission continue yo liaise with the Ministry for more details on the allocation.
