PCC SEEKS COLLABORATION WITH NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ON INVESTIGATION INTO ECOLOGICAL FUND

The Hon Chief Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission, Hon Abimbola Ayo-Yusuf has sought the collaboration of the National Assembly on investigation into the disbursement and utilization of the Ecological fund.

The Hon Chief Commissioner made this known when he paid a working visit to the House Committee Chairman on Ecological Fund, Hon. Ibrahim Ayokunle Isiaka in his office in Abuja.

The Hon Chief said, this became necessary following the recent flooding in the country and the barrage of complaints the Commission received across the country adding that” there is pressure from the members of the public on the Commission to investigate the fund”.

Responding, the Chairman, House Committee on Ecological Fund, Hon Ibrahim Isiaka, told his guest that the Committee is already on the matter and investigation is ongoing.

Hon Isiaka said although the Committee is new but they have hit ground running and have seperated the Fund account from that of Federal, State and Local Government and now have a dedicated account for Ecological Fund.

The Committee Chairman welcomed the Commission’s idea but told the Chief that he had to “revert to his Committee members for their inputs so that it will not be a one man show”.

The Chairman further stated that all the documents they have gotten so far in the course of their findings are “public documents and the Commission can have access to them”.

The Hon Chief Commissioner was accompanied on the visit by the Commissioners for Abia State, Hon. Maduakwe Ukaegbu, Ekiti State, Hon Olukayode Bamisile, and that of Kaduna State, Hon Abdullahi Garba Abbas as well as top management Staff of the Commission.
